Mindful Walking

Situational Awareness Activity #6

In this episode of “Living Well with ACT”, I will walk you through a 10 minute guided practice of mindful walking. This is part 6 of the situational awareness skills I have been working on.

Mindful walking is a simple yet powerful practice that combines a situational awareness activity for your mind with a physical activity for your body, so it is twice as useful! It is easy to do and requires no special equipment. It can be done in nature, in your neighborhood, or even on a treadmill indoors.

At its core, mindful walking is about paying attention to the act of walking. It's about noticing each step, the sensation of your feet touching the ground, the movement of your body, and the environment around you.

When we walk mindfully, we are fully present in the moment. This can help reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being. It's also a great way to practice mindfulness if you find sitting meditation challenging or if you simply want to incorporate mindfulness into your daily activities.
